Any good foundation is built on strong roots. The Danes shown here are the roots upon
which we have built a strong foundation which we hope will grow into an even stronger
family of Great Danes. These roots are our pride and joy.
The members of our family who lived with us, who we loved in life beyond compare and
who are remembered for having enriched our lives and filled our homes and hearts with
love are memorialized here.

DeWitt's Court is a small hobby kennel of Great Danes based primarily in the Hudson Valley, NY, founded around 1989, by Leigh DeWitt when she purchased
her first Great Dane, a harlequin she named DeWitt's Court Jester. Shortly after Jester joined Leigh's family, she met and was introduced to
conformation showing by a client of the veterinarian where Leigh worked. Leigh's love of Great Danes began with Jester, her love of conformation showing
began when she set foot into the show ring for the very first time. Leigh eventually met and was mentored by the late Linda Scatturo of Countryrun Great
Danes. Leigh added her love of blue Great Danes to her heart. As a good mom would, I accompanied Leigh to her first show and to many shows thereafter,
while I was at it, I fell totally in love with black Great Danes and it wasn't long before I joined Leigh in a journey into the world of Great Danes, breeding,
raising, training and conformation showing that has taken us north, south, east, west and into Canada for more than 20 years. We have shared dreams,
laughter and tears and continue to follow our love of this breed through thick and thin. We continue our journey in the world of Great Danes, and strive for
health, longevity and temperament in our breeding plans. Not without hardship and the loss of some of our dear Dane family by illness or diseases that seem
to be a harsh reminder of the frailty of this gentle giant breed, we take part in OFA Health Testing, and continued research into DCM, Cancer, and various
autoimmune diseases. Recently we have added two co-owners and breeders in Elaine Lemley and Kim Sias-Lombardi who share not only our love for this
breed, but share our vision for the future and our commitment to health, longevity and good temperament. We have a large family of puppy owners who have
enjoyed one or more of our offspring and the friendship and support that comes with it. Please feel free to enjoy this site, and come back again real soon.
